Jacket’s Tennis team  played in regionals looking to go farther than they ever have before. After a good season with a new head coach, the team had a successful one only short from reaching their goals.

They had two players ,sophomore Ryan Denham , and junior Colby Dodson place third at district to have a spot at the regional tournament. Ryan mentions those two as a few of his best accomplishments but has some that mean more.

“Biggest achievement has been when me and my partner, Colby Dodson, won 3rd place at the regional tournament. Also, one of the things I’m most proud of are all the friends I have made through the program and the relationships I have built with them,” said Ryan

Colby began his tennis career because of an invite from his friend and has been satisfied with his two years of playing. This is his last season.

“One of my friends, Rett Douglas, wanted me to join with him, so we could be partners,” said Colby “I have played for two years, and it being my last, I was proud of how I played. I improved my serves throughout the season and became a fairly skilled player. Both of my partners and I played very well together. “

After graduating this semester, Colby has been glad to be able to experience the opportunity to play and leaves good advice for the new-comers.

“Play smart. You won’t always be a better player than your opponent. But you can always outsmart them. Also, go off at the net. Add spin to your ball, and hustle a lot and stay on your toes at all time. “
