Living through Passions

Sophomore finds where she belongs

Aleah Cerros, Reporter

Sitting far away from everyone in class working on a poster, sits the quietest student in class creating
Canvas for Newspaper and dreaming of  Culinary Arts.
Sophomore Luna Brown feels at home in these classes.
“Culinary Arts and Newspaper class lets me be who I am,” Luna said. “I get to be myself without any
judgement.”
Luna is also inspired by Ms. Amos, our Newspaper teacher. “She motivates me to do better in her
class, always includes me in the things we do,” Luna said.
Finding her passion at the end of freshman year, Luna decided to join Culinary Arts her sophomore
year.
After cooking meals for fun, Luna found her passion for culinary.
“I realized I really enjoyed cooking when I found myself constantly cooking meals during my free
time,” Luna said.
Luna also found a passion for reading.
“One of my favorite authors has to be J.K Rowling,” Luna said, “reading her books feels like it’s
sucking out my soul as if I were in the book.”
Harry Potter is one of the most popular books to read.
“I love reading Harry Potter books because they involve some suspense and mystery, and I just overall
love fictional books.”
Being able to pursue your passions for multiple things in one school year will help Luna in the future.
“Being in Culinary Arts and Newspaper will help me with college resumes,” Luna said, “being able to
go to college will help my family and myself out a lot by helping me get a good paying job.”
Luna plans on attending college to get a degree in biology.
“If I were to go to college I would probably major in biology so I could work as a zoologist,” Luna said.
Being in Newspaper class, Luna has made an impact on our staff, always having a positive attitude, and
always having amazing ideas to share. Luna grew up not having many friends, or anyone to truly talk to,
but Newspaper lads really brought everyone together, as a family.
